Venilla Govender is the founder and director of Venilla Govender Attorneys Inc. and a seasoned legal professional with more than twenty years of experience in civil litigation and legal practice.

Her legal career began in the legal profession as a paralegal at a established Durban-based legal practice in Durban, where she developed extensive experience in litigation procedures, drafting legal documents and managing complex legal matters. She also completed a Corporate Law course at UNISA in 2019.

After completing her legal studies, she was admitted as an attorney in 2009 and progressed through the ranks at a established Durban-based legal practice, eventually serving as Director. During her tenure she handled a wide range of matters across the Magistrates’ Court, Regional Court and High Court.

Venilla has extensive experience in civil litigation including property disputes, commercial matters, debt recovery and family law matters. Her work has involved preparing legal pleadings, advising clients, consulting with counsel and representing clients across various courts.

Beyond her professional practice she has also been actively involved in pro bono legal assistance, providing legal support to clients through ProBono.org and contributing to access to justice within the community.
